Priscilla and Aquila

today's readings: 2 Kings 10:32-12:21, Acts 18:1-22, Psalm 145:1-21, Proverbs 18:1

today we meet Priscilla and Aquila, and i didn't know until today that they were saints! you can read more about them here.

they were a Christian couple of Jewish background who hosted the early church in their home in Rome. pretty simple, but pretty profound at the same time.

and that's our lives, too, isn't it? the humdrum sameness of eating and drinking and sleeping... but made profound by the fact that God gave us these lives, and this food, and this rest. Saints Priscilla and Aquila did very simple work, making tents, and had people into their homes. not what you would normally call heroic. but their names are in the Bible, and they are Catholic saints.

God, please transform my mundane, humdrum life into something that You can use.
