Nicodemus met with Jesus at night for fear of the Jews. this sounds cowardly, but when one considers that the Jews were plotting to kill Jesus and Lazarus. so this was no idle danger... it was fear for his life.
what Jesus says to him is both perplexing and amazing. He says we must be born again. this is so contrary to logic that it seems designed to be contrary to logic. it requires radical trust in Jesus's wisdom. so many parts of our lives are the same way... designed to put us in a position where we HAVE to trust Him.
God, please help my faith to grow so that I can trust you when life doesn't make sense.
