to know?

today's readings: Deut 23:1-25:19, Luke 10:13:37, Psalm 75:1-10, Proverbs 12:12-14

today Jesus says several profound things. which is good, because the OT reading started off a little rough lol.

it's hard to say what was most profound that Jesus said. i mean, He answered the question "what must i do to inherit eternal life?" if that's not profound, i don't know what is.

and He told His disciples that nothing will hurt them. also pretty amazing.

but the thing that jumped out at me was... He said that no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son... and those to whom Jesus reveals Him.

wow. that's pretty deep. and it answers alot of questions. how can we know God? He is so far above us, so much more than us. His ways aren't our ways, His thoughts aren't our thoughts. He's more advanced than we are the way we're more advanced than a single cell organism.

so how can we ever hope to know Him? only because the Son, Jesus, reveals Him to us. He shares Him and His relationship with us, and makes us part of the family.

God, please keep revealing to me, so I can begin to know you.
