you feed them

today's readings: Leviticus 14:1-57, Mark 6:30-56, Psalm 40:1-10, Proverbs 10:11-12

Jesus freaks out the disciples twice in today's reading. once by doing something "impossible" (walking on water), and once by asking THEM to do something impossible.

that's what Jesus does. He shows us how amazing God is... and then He asks us to do something about it.

there are always needs... everyone has them. in the world today, there are so many who need love, food, jobs, a home... the list goes on.

we look at God and say "why aren't you doing something about this?"

and God says "you feed them."

but He doesn't stop there. Jesus didn't sit back and wait for His disciples to realize that they couldn't do it. He had them look to see what they had, and then bring it to Him.

that's what He tells us to do. look at what you have, and bring it to Jesus. then He will multiply it, and make it not only meet the needs that you thought were so overwhelming, but surpass those needs.

God please help me love your children.

This touched me today, I was supposed to go play bunco Thursday at one o'clock and I was supposed to go make lap blankets for people in assisted living homes. Quite the difference in plans. After reading these passages I am making lap blankets on Thursday at one o'clock not playing bunco.

As you know, we have been in social services for over 20 yrs. We've stayed with it and helped many families. Some stay in touch even today after all these years, some did not experience what was being taught. Our personal needs most of the time were not addressed. We were blessed for doing eternal work through our ministry. Helping others by servicing their needs is fulfilling. Thank God for helping us and guiding us along the way, and for now allowing us to have the time to enjoy each other.
