it finds a way

today's readings: Leviticus 1:1-3:17, Mark 1:29-2:12, Psalm 35:17-28, Prov 9:13-18

so you can't help but love the friends who take their paralyzed buddy up on the roof where Jesus is speaking, dig a hole in the roof, and lower him down right in front of Jesus. it's the sort of thing that love does... it finds a way. I can just see the looks on the faces of the men as they come up with the plan... grinning to one another conspiratorially. And the look of surprise on everyone's face inside, probably including Jesus's, when the man comes down through the ceiling.

the take home lesson I saw, though, was what Jesus said to the Pharisees. He says "I will prove to you that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins."

how important that is. how infinitely important. because if He doesn't have that power, then we're all in trouble.

thank you, Jesus, that your love found a way to forgive me, a sinner.

The humor of the situation of no room in the room, I can see many people trying to figure what to do to assist their friend, they know that Jesus can heal the paralyzed friend soooo they came up with a solution. It was amazing the the Pharisees got hung up on someone who stated the facts of forgiveness of sins when He had just healed someone. Jesus has all power whether it be physical, mental or spiritual.
