to be strange

Today Lewis tells us about being different in A Year with C.S. Lewis.

I've mentioned before how odd the saints are. And I've pointed out that when we truly follow Jesus, we become more like the person He created us to be, which means we become less like everyone else.

But I haven't mentioned the fact that we all of us are strange. All that really means is none of us are the same. How boring would life be if God made all of us the same? Well, we'll never know, because He didn't. (Or maybe we can get a glimpse by going to a party where everyone pretends to be normal).

Here is a link to some wonderful quotes about being the amazingly unique person that you were created to be. Of course, to become that person, we have to lose our fear. Fear is what makes us act like everyone else.

Love is what sets us free.

God, take away ALL of my fear and fill me with Your love...so I can finally, truly be me.
