set ablaze

Today Lewis ends the excerpt in A Year with C.S. Lewis by talking about how everything ultimately will belong to God or the enemy.

And that brings up an important point. Sometimes we are not fully His, are we? We find ourselves wrestling with giving up ownership of our lives to Him. But it's pretty simple to start moving in the right direction.

If we ask Him to make us more fully His, then He will respond to that prayer. If we ask Him to fill us with His Spirit, making us burn with His presence, like the gif above, like the burning bush in the OT, then He will set us ablaze. And we will not be consumed, just as the bush wasn't. But we will shine with His light and warmth for everyone to see and draw comfort from.

God, fill us with Your burning Spirit.

That is so true. Once we get the realization that we are not our own. We can walk and such freedom love light and it just burns and you just want to tell everybody about it. But sometimes you don't even have to say a word your actions of kindness and love speak louder than any words could say.
